The Man, the Myth, the Medallist
Matthew’s eye-catching rise from the junior ranks to the senior stage saw him become an Olympic gold medalist in the 4x200m Freestyle relay in the Tokyo Olympics at just 18 years old. Since then, he's won multiple international medals including an individual gold at the World Championships and European SC Championships in 2023. At the Speedo British Championships - Olympic Trials in April 2024 Matt won the 100m, 200m freestyle events qualifying for the individual events for 2024 Paris Olympics.
Head in the race
Matt loves the competitive aspect of the sport, saying "It's always great fun, especially racing with these boys…In the summer we'll all get to race together as part of that relay, which everyone knows just how exciting that is but it's always a privilege and an honour to race alongside them."
