Alice Tai
One event, seven golds
Alice (MBE) is a highly accomplished Paralympic swimmer, with a load of titles under her belt including Paralympic, World, European, and Commonwealth championships. Her achievements include securing seven gold medals at the 2019 World Para Swimming Championships and multiple victories in the European Para Swimming Championships and the Commonwealth Games. Tai made her mark at a young age, winning gold medals since 2014.
From seagull to champion
Alice began swimming at eight years old, joining the Seagulls Swimming Club in her hometown of New Milton. It wasn’t until the winter of 2010 that her family realised that she could be classified as a disability swimmer. Before the age of 12 she had undergone 14 corrective operations.
