Canada's finest

Aurélie, a Canadian Paralympic swimmer, has made history with 10 medals across three Paralympic Games. Her success goes beyond the Paralympics, with victories in various World Para Swimming Championships and other major events. Rivard's journey began with a standout performance at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, and she continues to dominate as one of Canada's most decorated Paralympic athletes.

Failing first

Rivard, and her twin sister Charlotte were born into a sports-oriented family. However for Aurélie, swimming lessons as a child weren’t really her thing. She wanted some action and excitement and missed a competition element. She failed two or three levels when she was taking swimming lessons and it was only when she discovered racing, training and the whole high-level sport that she fell in love with swimming.
